Here I've included only book descriptions that are really informative: more than just a sentence or two.
Whenever there are several descriptions for the same book, the description from the publisher (if there is one!) has been put at the top of the list, others are indented slightly below that.
Latest: Coriolis have recently stooped to sending out spam. I was "specially selected" for a mail list that I didn't subscribe to and am absolutely not interested in. Sorry, Coriolis, I do not appreciate spam. All books from Coriolis have been removed from this site.
Note:
Macmillan Computer Publishing (MCP) have completed a major site reorganization. Whether that is good for us, remains to be seen. A lot of informative book descriptions have disappeared.
Where available, I've replaced the original link with one to a page from the on-line catalog so you can at least see some kind of description; the old criteria for linking to a description still apply, though: more than one paragraph!
In practice this simply means that most books from MCP and their various imprints have now disappeared from this page. (I wonder how they expect to sell books on-line when there is no information to be found about them?)
The planned book-info pages also don't seem to have materialized; the few pages I've been able to find that contain any information at all are linked to on the Book-related pages page.

There are two major exceptions:
- Those books that have a related page: you'll just see the title with the
 marker which will allow you to jump to the appropriate section on the Book-related pages page.
- For as long as it lasts: Books published by Waite who were the last MCP imprint sensible enough maintain their own website with good book descriptions. Alas, they now mention "This site will be going away shortly. Please see Macmillan Computer Publishing for all of the most current Waite Group Press titles and information."
Some things, like book covers and tables of contents have already disappeared. The site isn't maintained any more: the latest 'new book' mentioned is from February 1997... Bad idea!
On the other hand, there are now 150 titles on-line for you to choose from so I've removed the "on-line" marker for all Macmillan books: you can now simply make your own choice. See the note on the On-line books page!
